Amsterdam - Sightseeing

Of course , the Netherlands is not only famous for its Red Light District and Marijuana. Amsterdam has even more to offer-its scenic canals , beautiful , heritage-protected 17th century buildings and also some of Europe's best museums.

Tulip - the flower synonymous with Holland. Too bad the tulip blossoming season was over the time i was there. Anywhere , no harm paying a visit to the famous floating floral market along Singel canal. What is left are wooden tulips for souvenirs , and also buds of tulip which you have to plant it yourself.
And the 17th century buildings here are so unique. Packed closely together , each with its own distinguished architecture , the whole view seems as picturesque as those portrayed in paintings. I guess it's not just adults X-rated theme park , it's also artist's dreamland for inspiration.

And of all these , this house at 7 Singel Street is the narrowest house in the world ,with its width of about 1 meter...And the Dam square is the heart of Amsterdam , with beehives of activities going on everyday , day and night.

And talking about open-mindedness , i think this is another eye opener. Imagine this stand is for peeing. Worst of all , there's no flush , no water tabs , nothing. And these stands are everywhere in the city. One thing i like about Amsterdam - the laid-back , no frills lifestyle. Maybe that is what i see. Basking in the sun , sipping a cup of cappucino and chatting with friends.
Or picnicking in Vondelpark. They really know how to enjoy life. ..
With so many canals here , the best way to explore the city is by taking a boat ride. And we chose the cheapest options , boat-pedaling.
The only museum i visited in Amsterdam - Van Gogh Museum.
