Prague- Praha

Prague , the capital of the Czech Republic. A truly wonderful place. I think i have fallen in love with her the very first moment i stepped my leg on the land. No words can describe how beautiful the place is. It is a city of colourful history and rich cultural heritage. It is a great feast of eyes seeing the magnificent architecture of the neo-Gothic , Renaisance or other period style of builidings everywhere.Every part of the city is worth snapping photos , every single building is unique with its own accoutrements and intricate carvings. It is like taking a walk back to the 10th or 11th century.

And yet , Prague is truly a modern city. Liberal. That's the word. If we say our country is liberal , wait till we see theirs. Their appreciation and definition of arts will definitely open our eyes. Nudity is an art here , not a taboo. Posters and billboards of nude models are everywhere on the streets. "Playboy" magazine is on sell cheaply at 99 crown(RM16.50) at "Tabak"(meaning newspaper vender i think). The front page of the newspaper has a topless lady. And they even have "SEX MACHINE MUSUEM"!!! And of course bars , night clubs and strip clubs can be found at every corner of the streets.Wait till i go and have a check next time.

At the same time , the people here are highly culture and corteuos. I am amazed by how well-disciplined they can be. It makes me come to ponder about the fact that Malaysia is really a country of "first class facility but third class mentality". They do not need the govenrment to impose hefty fines to keep the road clean. People clear their own plates at the food court. And how i wish Malaysian drivers can emulate half of their driving manners. Zebra crossing in Malaysia means nothing to those barbaric drivers. But here the cars do indeed stop for people to cross the road. I am still flabbergasted! And how guilty i felt of neglecting it when i was driving.
And Prague's public transport is brilliant. Trams are easily accesible. Furthermore , students like us can travel around at all times by paying a fixed amount of monthly fees for student pass.
There are more than 40 musuems in Prague alone , not to mention those in other part of the Czech Republic. Imagine how long will we need if we seriously want to explore the city? So this is only a brief introduction to the country i will be staying in the next six years. Stay tuned for more exciting discovery as i explore the country!
Nashledanou!(Goodbye)

I like traveling and I saw many cities, but the deepest impression I had after visiting Prague. Prague – once a capital of "Europe" during Emperors Charles IV or Rudolf II – offers fresh combinations of various architectural styles. More than 900 hundred years left its proof in today's appearance. Romanesque rotundas, Gothic cathedrals, Baroque churches and buildings in the style of Art Noveau or linear Cubism and new amount of Prague hotels built in the era of Communism and after. And of course, newly built buildings, in after the Velvet Revolution, some of them highly visionary (such as Dancing House) and others just a piece of scrap.
